In Bronx, New York, a 26-year-old man named Daviid Mosley is accused of torturing an innocent cat to death — an attack that investigators say he filmed and posted online to promote his music. Before his social media accounts were deleted, Mosley allegedly bragged about the killing, mocked animal lovers, and even threatened to perform another “live sacrifice” on Halloween.
Thanks to people speaking out, Mosley was arrested and now faces charges of criminal mischief, aggravated cruelty to animals, and disposal of dead animals. But despite the horrifying details of this case, and the threats of more violence, Mosley is already out of jail.
This was a deliberate, sadistic, and ritualistic act of cruelty. No animal killer who boasts about their violence and threatens to do it again should walk free while awaiting their next court date.
We are calling on Bronx prosecutors and the court to pursue the maximum sentence allowed by law, treat this case as the serious, violent offence it is, and ensure there are no plea deals and no leniency.
