SIGN NOW: Demand the Maximum Penalty for Dogfighting Ringleader in Philippines!

Last year, my team and I dismantled an active dogfighting ring operating in the Philippines. We didn’t hear about it after the fact. We intervened minutes before dogs were about to be forced into a fight.

When we entered the property, what we found was organised, deliberate cruelty.

Seven puppies were being trafficked, treated as inventory, and prepared for sale into the dogfighting underworld. Three adult dogs had already been fought. Their injuries were severe, visible, and unmistakable. One of those dogs was so badly injured that veterinarians had no choice but to euthanise her.

As the search continued, the evidence mounted. There was a makeshift fighting pit ready for use. Homemade break sticks designed to force dogs apart mid-fight. Drugs intended to push dogs harder or keep them fighting through injuries.

Tomorrow, the alleged dogfighter will stand before the Regional Trial Court to answer animal cruelty charges for his role in this network.

Dogfighting only continues when the consequences are weak. Lenient penalties tell offenders that this crime is worth the risk. Strong sentences send a clear message that it is not.

By signing, you are demanding that the court impose the maximum penalty if this individual is found guilty. You are telling the judge that this case is being watched, that the public expects justice, and that cruelty of this scale must be met with real consequences.
