Hailey was just five months old when she was beaten to death by the people who owned her.
Her ribs were broken. Her jaw was shattered. Her eye sockets were crushed. Old injuries sat alongside new ones, clear evidence that the violence didn’t happen once, but again and again over time.
A veterinary examination revealed catastrophic injuries, including a fracture at the base of her skull that forced bone into her brain. The veterinarian said they didn’t know how Hailey was even still alive and that there was no option left but to end her suffering.
Her abusers are now facing felony aggravated animal cruelty charges. But too often, cases like this end with reduced charges or weak sentences that fail to reflect the severity of the violence. When punishment is light, abusers walk free and animals continue to suffer behind closed doors.
By signing this petition, you are demanding that prosecutors and the courts pursue maximum punishment in cases of severe animal abuse so what happened to Hailey is not excused, minimised, or repeated.
