Nyx is a tiny black kitten who was found standing in the middle of a road in Romania, crying loudly for help. She couldn’t see where she was. She couldn’t find safety. She was terrified and completely disoriented.
When rescuers reached her, they realised the truth: Nyx wasn’t lost. She was blind. Both of her eyes had been removed. Her vet has stated that her injuries are consistent with someone intentionally causing them.
And whoever did this could walk away with no consequences unless the authorities act now. No animal deserves this. No animal should cry in the street because a human took their eyes. And no animal abuser should walk free.
We are calling on the Romanian authorities to open a full investigation into Nyx’s injuries, pursue maximum criminal charges if a suspect is identified, and treat intentional cruelty to animals as a serious offence.
