Sofia lay at the side of a Romanian road, shaking in the freezing cold. Someone abandoned her there. Someone left her injured, terrified, and alone. A passer-by placed a blanket over her, set her in a cardboard box, and called for help but Sofia had already endured days of pain no dog should ever face.
